Recently, a 15-member art troupe from Jinan Opera Center participated in the 122nd International Rose Festival in Kazanlak, Jinan's sister city in Bulgaria.
As a sister city of Jinan, the Rose Festival held by Kazanlak is a national cultural event in Bulgaria. Two Intangible Heritage performances were delivered by Jinan Peking Opera Theater on the main Rose Square stage, an opening ceremony show and a special presentation for the International Folk Art Festival. The program showcased quintessential Peking Opera classics, aiming to deepen artistic exchanges, cultural tourism cooperation, and strengthen sister-city bonds.

The troupe joined the vibrant parade, captivating audiences with elaborate costumes, makeup, and dynamic performances of Sheng, Dan, Jing, and Chou roles. Artists demonstrated vocal techniques and martial arts skills while inviting spectators for interactive experiences and photo opportunities.
Through Peking Opera, Jinan displayed both traditional artistic splendor and its unique "City of Springs" character. This cultural diplomacy continues to expand overseas influence of Chinese heritage while deepening Jinan-Kazanlak cooperation across local engagement, culture, and tourism sectors.
